The Grand Cru of Chateau Calon Segur from Saint-Estephe, Bordeaux is a rare, authentic red blend that stirs the soul. Medium to deep ruby-red in color with a purple rim. Aromas are an attractive layering of blackcurrant, tobacco-leaf & graphite. The palate layers abundant graphite notes over dark-fruit & intense licorice, it is supported by fresh acidity. The wine has a fine tannic structure. Alcohol is balanced & the finish is long, fresh & fine-grained with touches of mint & tobacco leaf. The wine’s extraordinary ability to age many years in bottle is another feature of the estate. Producer Notes
