Chateau de Lamarque 2019
Château de Lamarque is a delightful Haut-Médoc property which is situated on the left bank of the Gironde, to the north of Margaux, on the south of Pauillac and Saint-Julien. The estate associated with this medieval bastion of Lamarque is producing some fine wines.
The 2019 vintage from Château de Lamarque is made from a blend of grape varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. A deep dark ruby, opaque core with purple tinges. Fragrant aromas of fine forest berry jam, lush tangerine zest, blackberry, and cassis. Savoury and inviting. Juicy, ripe plums, a little nougat, integrated tannins, refined tannic finish.
95 Points - James Suckling
Plenty of dark-berry, spice and sandalwood aromas follow through to a full to medium body with integrated, chewy tannins that are long and focused. Pretty finish with plenty of energy and intensity. Perhaps the best Lamarque ever. Try after 2025.
