Montes Alpha Syrah 2022
Deep ruby-red in color with violet nuances. The nose is very expressive with aromas of ripe blackberries, figs, crème de cassis, and hints of leather and dark chocolate. The palate is well balanced with bright acidity, smooth tannins, ample structure, and generous volume. The finish is long and considerably complex. Highly recommended with red meats, stir-fried beef, pork chops, spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, and lamb chops.
Blend: 90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Viognier.

This is a consistent Syrah that shows a light peppery edge to the blackberries and black cherries. Lots of fruit here, with a subtle touch of graphite. Very fine-grained on the palate with powdery tannins that extend the lengthy finish. Still generous, but restrained. One of the best ever? Syrah co-fermented with 3% Viognier and blended with 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now or hold.
