Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal 2022
The Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal Grand Cru Pauillac comes from a vineyard that is half located on a limestone ridge at the edge of the river and is close to Château Latour, and a second part located on the height of the place called “Bages”. Ideally located along the Gironde estuary, the vineyard enjoys a mild and humid microclimate which protects the vines from severe weather and frost. The presence of limestone in the heart of the vineyard, very rare within the Pauillac appellation, brings freshness and elegance to the wine. The vineyard is both certified organic (since 2019) and biodynamic (Demeter, since 2021) certified. The property has been operating for over 15 years in agroecology and agroforestry to favour soil biodiversity.
The 2022 vintage is characterized by a rich fruit aroma and a beautiful minerality, perfectly reflecting the ideal terroir on which the Château is located. Its tannins are elegant and precise
Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot
97 Points - James Suckling
Lots of redcurrants and blackcurrants with some cassis as well as iron, tile, stone and hints of dried herbs. Full-bodied with lots of pretty structure and very juicy tannins. Lively and energetic. Exciting to taste.
