The second release of single malt whisky from Isle of Raasay Distillery is a lightly-peated whisky that was matured in a combination of first-fill rye whiskey barrels, fresh Chinkapin oak and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. The result is notes of dark berries, earthy smoke, subtle sea salt and juicy plums throughout the palate. Quite a bit of added complexity and a slight increase in smoke compared to R-01.
