The Simes Vineyard is a uniquely north-facing with granite-based soils, both making it quite marginal and challenging. This leads to cool, fresh and bright Pinot Noir. The Martin's Lane Pinot Noir from Simes Vineyard was aged in partial new Austrian oak. There's some oak up front, but it becomes more transparent as it airs out. It just needs some time to open up. Should age well.
