Drappier Grande Sendrée Cuvée 2015
The La Grande Sendrée 2015 cuvée of Champagne Drappier is one of the most refined expressions of the house of d'Urville. Coming from a unique terroir and a sunny vintage, this champagne combines intensity, balance and elegance. 2015 revealed ripe and pure fruit, sublimated by vinification in barrels and long ageing on lees. A wine that is both ample and chiseled, which combines the nobility of Pinot Noir and the finesse of Chardonnay.
- Pinot Noir (55%) brings structure, vinosity and aromatic richness.
- The Chardonnay (45%) brings finesse, freshness and radiance.
Colour - Light gold with golden reflections. Fine, regular effervescence. Creamy foam, a guarantee of a long ageing on lees.
Nose - First nose of ripe pear, Mirabelle plum and white flowers. Then appear notes of honey, brioche, toasted hazelnut and wet chalk. Elegant, complex and harmonious whole.
Palate - Ample attack, supported by chalky tension. Silky texture, delicate bubble. Aromas of candied citrus, dried fruit and fine pastry. Long, saline and balanced finish.
95 Points - James Suckling
Wow. Ample and rich, with aromas and flavors of brioche and salted butter, as well as dried apple and flint. Full-bodied, complex and delicious, with a long, smooth finish. Becomes rather dry on the finish thanks to the pearly bubbles. Drink now.
